City Blues Society
Annual Christmas Party
Spa City Blues Society will host its annual
Christmas Party on Sunday, December 8, from 4 to
8 pm at The Ohio Club. The Christmas Party will
serve as an opportunity to help those in need
during the holidays and also as a fundraiser for
the acts that will be sent to the International
Blues Challenge in Memphis in January. The SCBS
is requesting a $5 donation per person along
with an item off the Christmas list. The
Christmas Party is open to the public. There
will be free hors d’ouvres while they last.
The SCBS will be gathering items this year for
the Hillcrest Children’s Home in Hot Springs.
Here is a list of the items that are being
requested by the children’s home. The SCBS is
asking people to bring at least one item off the
list to assist with helping make a happy holiday
for these kids.
Performing for the Christmas Party will be the
SCBS’ representatives to the 2014 International
Blues Challenge. Opening the evening will be the
solo/duo representatives, Little Roy Gene and
Grayson Goff. They will be followed by the band
representatives, Charlotte Taylor and Gypsy
Rain. Both acts recently won the SCBS’ local
competitions. Little Roy Gene will also
represent the SCBS in Memphis as part of the
Best Self-Produced CD competition. For details
on the International Blues Challenge go to
SCBS and Hot Springs Blues Festival merchandise
will also be available for purchase at the
party. If you are looking for a last minute gift
for that music lover in your family consider a
George Hunt collectible festival poster or
t-shirt. For the discerning music/art lover
there will be limited edition, signed George
Hunt prints available.

SCBS Auction in a Box
The SCBS is having an
auction. It's not your typical auction. It's a
bit of a silent auction with locations all
around Hot Springs. The SCBS will have auction
displays at several locations around town. There
are three to four pictures/memorabilia at each
location. The items include well presented,
plaque style photos of music and sports figures.
These are great items for Christmas or birthdays
or just because you want one!
It's really simple. Just stop by one of the
locations during business hours, check out the
items, make your bid and drop it in the box.
It's that simple. The auction will begin on
December 1 and end on December 22.
And be sure to spend time supporting the
businesses that support the SCBS. We appreciate
these fine folks for helping us out by hosting

sends local musicians to compete on a world wide
stage at the International Blues Challenge. Your
blues society also supports local charities
(Hillcrest Children's Home, Salvation Army), and
state charities Unknown Legends Musicians Relief

educational programming (Blues In The Schools)
and assists with numerous local fundraisers in
partnership with other groups and organizations.
